Rally Obedience class is an introduction to the world of Rally and Competition Obedience.
Think of an AKC Rally® event as any team sport: You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer him through a course of 10-20 different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The dog and handler move continuously throughout the course with the dog under control at the handler’s left side. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. Although each performance is timed, having a good race time is not the goal; it’s all about working as a team while performing the skills, with the dog under control. http://www.akc.org/sports/rally/
You will learn how to perform the Novice Level exercises and how to maneuver through a Rally course. You and your dog need to have a basic understanding of the “Heel position”; and your dog needs to be able to perform the “Sit”, “Down”, and “Stand” positions to attend this class.
Class Information
- Age Requirement: Dogs 6 months and older. Must have attended a Puppy Kindergarten or Basic Obedience class.
- Duration: 6 weeks; class meets 1 hour every week on the same day of the week and time as the starting date of the class.
- Location: Puppy Love Dog Training. This class is held outdoors so dress appropriately.
- Price: $135
- Class size: Limited to no more than 6 dogs per class.
